fuseext2 software package provides File System in User Space - Module for ext2, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fuseext2
fuseext2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fuseext2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fuseext2 *
You will get with fuseext2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
